Napier is the home of the National Aquarium of New Zealand which is on the shore front near the CBD.
The actual diving takes place at the Northern Titi Islands which are near Stewart Island.
There is a free flight aviary to visit and some great easy trail walks to do in the native forest.
It's situated on a sandstone headland with spectacular 360 degree views.
Visit Whangamata and rent a kayak to tour Donut Island and see it in all it's splendour.
During the 19th century approx 20 ships were wrecked on this part of the coast.
