Rugby anyone?

Rugby anyone?

Rugby anyone? Well, this is New Zealand.

Palmerston North has a great Museum dedicated solely to Rugby.

On display is a 1905 “Originals” Jersey along with the Whistle from the final test played on the “Invincibles” Tour in 1924-25 of United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and Canada. Quite a trip in those days.

Not only do they have everything Rugby to look at, there is also an area where you can test your skills at kicking, tackling, pushing and more.

Do you have what it takes to be an All Black?

What else can I do around Palmerston North?

  • Visit Berrymans Lane and see the outdoor wall art.
  • Explore Bledisloe Park
  • Victoria Esplanade Gardens
  • Cycle the Manawatu River Pathway
  • Lots of day trips to places like Fielding, Bulls, Himatangi Beach and Ashurst / Woodville

Palmerston North is a lovely city of 81,000 and New Zealand’s 8th largest city.  Originally a saw milling town and the railway to Wellington was built in 1886 which opened the area up to the settlement of many Scandinavian people. It has a rich culture and is the home of Massey University and Linton Military Camp. With so many young people there is plenty of nighttime entertainment.
