Get up early on a Saturday morning because they open at 7am. You want to get the bargains don't you. 

After a quick walk around get something hot to eat and drink. The choices are amazing.  From  Hangi, Island Doughnuts, Poke, Mayonnaise, Chop Suey, Kebabs, Pork Buns, Sushi, Toro Churros, Souvalaki, Coconut Bread, Fried Bread and the ever popular Bacon & Egg and Steak rolls!

The Otara Markets are now  an institution, and since 1976 have become the  cultural hub of Auckland  from 7am till Midday (Saturday) for thousands. 

From used clothing to plants,  seedlings and home made preserves they have it all. 

Did I forget to say they also have Maori, Samoan, Tongan, Niuean Art and Culture including tapa, custom jewellery, head pieces and hats, pupu, korowai, kete, bone carving, pounamu, lava lava. Polynesian music and dvds, t-shirts, gifts, toys, jewellery, shoes, sarongs, homemade duvet and pillows, electrical goods and more.

So reserve next Saturday morning and take the family out for an amazing experience..
